ResumeTracker provides career productivity software designed to help job seekers organize their job search. Key services include:
- ResumeTracker Web Dashboard: A comprehensive workspace to track job applications, pipeline stages (Wishlist, Applied, Interview, Offer, Rejected), contacts, activity logs, and analytics.
- AI Job Clipper Extension: A Chrome extension that allows users to extract job posting details from third-party career portals, convert unstructured text to structured Markdown, and sync items to their dashboard.
- AI Parsing & Analysis: Automated extraction of key skills, salary ranges, responsibilities, and qualifications from job postings.

To deliver our features, your data may be transmitted to the following systems and third-party service providers:
When you save a job or log in, data is transmitted over encrypted HTTPS to the ResumeTracker backend API and stored in secure PostgreSQL database infrastructure for account persistence and dashboard synchronization.
When you utilize AI features (e.g., parsing raw job postings, extracting keywords, or analyzing required qualifications), job description text and extraction prompts are transmitted to external AI inference gateways—primarily OpenRouter and Google Gemini API (utilizing OpenAI-compatible client libraries for API protocol compatibility).
Third-Party Inference Vendor Policies & Data Retention Notice:
- Scope of Transmitted Data: Currently, data sent to AI inference endpoints consists primarily of public job posting information (such as job titles, employer names, job descriptions, required skills, and compensation ranges).
- Vendor Training & Free Tier Disclosures: While ResumeTracker never sells or monetizes your data, third-party inference vendors and upstream model hosts (particularly when routing through free-tier AI endpoints or free accounts) operate under their own independent terms and may log, retain, or use prompt data for model training. We have no control over third-party AI provider data retention, training policies, or server logs.
- Future Personal Data Updates: If any future feature or update requires transmitting personally identifiable information (such as user resumes, personal contact details, or portfolio information) to external AI models, we will provide clear notice and update users before such data is sent.
Certain configurations, such as custom API endpoints, UI state, and active login sessions, are stored locally within your browser using localStorage, cookies, and chrome.storage.
We NEVER sell, rent, monetize, or trade your personal data, resume details, or job hunting history with third-party advertisers, data brokers, or credit/lending institutions.

While we do not sell your data, third-party inference providers and model hosts (especially when using free-tier endpoints or accounts) may retain, inspect, or use prompt transmissions for training according to their own independent terms of service. ResumeTracker has zero control over third-party AI vendor logging, retention, or training behaviors. We cannot guarantee third-party vendor practices.

- We are not responsible or liable for any job rejections, hiring decisions, interview outcomes, or missed application deadlines resulting from your use of this software.
- We are not responsible for any inaccuracies, hallucinations, omissions, or errors generated by third-party AI models or parsing algorithms.
- We are not responsible for changes, blocks, or layout adjustments instituted by third-party job boards (e.g., LinkedIn, Indeed, Greenhouse, Lever) that may affect clipping accuracy.
- We are not responsible for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages resulting from data loss, downtime, or security incidents on self-hosted instances.

We implement industry-standard encryption (TLS/HTTPS) and credential hashing to safeguard your information. You retain full control over your data:
- Access & Export: You can view and edit all your clipped applications and notes directly from your dashboard at any time.
- Deletion: You can delete individual job records or request account removal, which will purge your stored application data.
